Gabion Basket is a double twisted gabion Wire Mesh of variable sizes, uniformly partitioned into internal cells, interconnected with other similar units, and filled with stone at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures such as retaining walls, sea wall, channel linings, revetments, and weirs for erosion control projects.

The double twisted gabion wire mesh made by twisting continuous pairs of wires through three one-half turns (commonly called double twisted) to form hexagonal-shaped openings which are then interconnected to adjacent wires to form hexagonal openings.

The wire used to manufacture double twisted gabion wire mesh is soft annealed, mild steel wire provided with heavy zinc coating as per EN 10244/ASTM A 641 to prevent corrosion. In case of use in aggressive environments, it is further extruded with 0.5mm thick PVC Coating. The PVC coating is UV stabilized as per ASTM A 975.

Selvedge / Edge wire which is a thicker and heavier wire is used to reinforce the edges and transverse diaphragm. It gives greater rigidity and shape to the Gabion Basket.

The diaphragm assure minimum stone migration within the basket, thus gives strength to the container to retain its original shape and does not unravel or unzip in adverse conditions. Woven units can also be easily amended on site and shaped to suit project requirements.

Reno Mattress / Gabion Mattress made from a hexagonal double twisted wire mesh with a mesh type 6x8. The wire mesh diameter is 2.2 mm. The wire mesh diameter is 2.2 mm.

Besides woven gabion, we also supply welded gabion. It is made of Welded Wire Mesh panels assembled with spirals, locking pins and stiffener. Each gabion panel is composed of rugged high tensile wire coated by a thick, corrosion-resistant layer of zinc.

The wire is also available with a tough, durable pvc coating. Welded gabion could be used for prefilled on site construction which is quick and easy. They have a variety of applications such as retaining walls for commercial, industrial and road project, landscaping, erosion control.
